These pics are to show the damage caused when the wall bowed out and the bricks took a tumble... the pics are from April and since then, the problem has continued. The wall is more noticeably bowed out now--although we caught the next batch of bricks before they tumbled, and propped them up.
The wall has to be taken down and rebuilt, from the front door around the corner, all along the side in the pic (the south side), around the corner to the back door. It's a BIG job!
No Linus; we thought all that had to be done was having the bricks relaid where they fell out. We had a structural engineer look at it and at the time, that was all he said was necessary.
Unfortunately, in the ten months since he looked at it, the damage has gotten worse.
I live in Kansas with Gryph and our beloved cat and dog in a 1920 brick Craftsman fixer-upper. We have 100+ year old maple trees, a garden which needs serious revamping, and nowhere NEAR enough closet space or electrical outlets, and we couldn't be happier!
